The following privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) outlines the breadth of our commitment to privacy and is designed to assist you in understanding how we collect and use the personal information that you provide us and in making informed decisions when using the Site.

Our Site collects aggregate information, which is information that is anonymous and/or not personally identifiable, including usage information, such as but not limited to the frequency that certain webpages are accessed by users and the amount of time spent on individual webpages or sections of the Site, the number of visits to the Site by users, types of browsers used by visitors, cookie preferences, and search terms entered by visitors. Aggregate information is used in a collective manner, and no single person can be identified by the compiled information.
We do not process credit card transactions and any information collected in connection with a credit card transaction is collected and used in accordance with the privacy policy of our payment processing vendor.
How Do We Use Information That We Collect?
Any of the information we collect from you may be used in one of the following ways:
- To provide our Site and services.
- To send newsletters.
- To improve user experiences by making the Site easier to use and navigate.
- For other legitimate business purposes.
- To reach out to you directly via email or text message to facilitate introductions, follow up on potential matches, or otherwise support your experience on the Site.
- To send you operational and marketing text (SMS) messages at the phone number you provide us, subject to your right to opt out as described below.
- When facilitating a warm introduction, we will share relevant details from your profile — including event preferences, budget range, and style information — with prospective vendors as part of the matching process.
- To develop, train, and improve automated matching systems, machine learning models, and AI-powered features that power the Site, including style matching, vendor discovery, recommendation tools, and workflow tools made available to vendors on the platform.
Except as stated below, your information, whether public or private, will not be sold, exchanged, transferred, or given to any other company for any reason whatsoever, without your consent, other than for the express purpose of delivering the service requested. From time to time, Friend Club may be required to disclose personal information in response to a valid court order, subpoena, government investigation, or as otherwise required by law, or if Friend Club reasonably believes that a user has committed unlawful acts or acts that may endanger the health or safety of another use or the general public. Friend Club reserves the right to report to law enforcement agencies any activities that we, in good faith, believe to be unlawful.
We may also disclose personal information with third party service providers, agents or independent contractors who help us maintain our Site and provide other administrative services to us.
Finally, we may share your personal information in the course of any direct or indirect reorganization process including, but not limited to, mergers, acquisitions, and sales of all or substantially all of our assets.
Collection and Use of Information from Children
Friend Club does not knowingly request or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 13 without prior verifiable parental consent. If we receive actual knowledge that we have collected such personal information without the requisite and verifiable parental consent, Friend Club will delete that information as quickly as is reasonably practical.
How do we protect your information?
We implement reasonable security measures to ensure the security of your personal information. Please understand, however, that no data transmissions over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Consequently, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us and you understand that any information that you transfer to us is done at your own risk. By using our Site or providing personal information to us, you agree that we can communicate with you electronically regarding security, privacy and administrative issues relating to your use of the Site.
Technologies We May Use To Collect Information
Friend Club uses a proprietary analytics system to collect information about how users interact with the Site, including pages visited, time spent on individual pages, access times, browser type, IP address, and general usage patterns. This data is stored and processed internally and is not shared with third-party analytics providers.
We may also use a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system and other internal tools to manage user communications, track outreach, and support our services. Cookies and similar technologies may be used to support these functions as described in our Cookie Policy.
Third-Party Service Providers
We share your information with third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Site and delivering our services. These providers fall into the following categories:
- Analytics providers (e.g., Google Analytics) to understand how users interact with the Site.
- Infrastructure and hosting providers to store and process data securely.
- Mapping and location services to support geographic features of the Site.
- Social media platforms and APIs to support content sharing and vendor marketing tools.
- Customer relationship management (CRM) platforms to manage user communications and outreach.
- Marketing and communications platforms to send email and SMS messages.
These providers are contractually obligated to use your information only as necessary to provide services to us and in accordance with applicable law.
Instagram Data
If you are a vendor and choose to connect your Instagram Business or Creator account to Marketing Studio, we use Instagram Login, a Meta service, to ask for your permission. With your permission we receive from Meta:
- your Instagram account ID, username, name, profile picture and account type; and
- your own posts: the images and videos, their dates and links and, for features that import your posts, their captions and like and comment counts,
together with an access token that lets us read this information on your behalf.
How we use it. We show you which Instagram account is connected. When you choose “On your feed” in a post preview, we read your latest posts at that moment and show the post you are planning first on your real Instagram grid; we do not store that view. We read only the account you connected. We do not read other people’s Instagram accounts, we do not post to Instagram for you, and we do not sell your Instagram data or share it with other users or advertisers. We do not use Instagram data to train AI models.
Who processes it for us. Our hosting, database and storage providers (Railway, Supabase and Amazon Web Services) and, for Studio features you use, our AI service providers (Google, Anthropic, OpenAI, xAI and Jina AI) process Instagram data only on our instructions and under written agreements.
How long we keep it. While your Instagram account stays connected. If you remove The Friend Club in Instagram, or Instagram stops our access, we stop reading and delete our access token right away. What we imported is kept until you delete it as described below.
How to delete your Instagram data
- In Marketing Studio: open your account menu, choose Instagram account, then Disconnect and “Disconnect and remove data”. We delete the connection and everything we imported from it and show you a confirmation code. You can see what was deleted at thefriendclub.com/instagram/data-deletion/ followed by your code.
- From Instagram: go to Settings, then Apps and websites, remove The Friend Club, and ask for your data to be deleted. Meta tells us, we delete the data, and Meta gives you our confirmation code.
- By email: write to [email protected] from your account email with the Instagram username you connected, and we will delete the data within 30 days.
Your use of Instagram remains subject to Meta’s Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it by law, to resolve disputes, or to enforce our agreements. As described in our Terms of Service, certain User Content may be retained after account deletion in accordance with the licenses you granted us.
California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to Know. You have the right to request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources from which we collected it, the purposes for which we use it, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
- Right to Delete. You have the right to request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to Opt Out of Sale. We do not sell your personal information. If this practice changes, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide you with a right to opt out.
- Right to Non-Discrimination. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your rights under the CCPA.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at [email protected]. We will respond to verifiable requests within 45 days as required by law.
Opt-Out
We provide you the opportunity to opt-out of marketing communications by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in email communications or by contacting us using the contact information provided below. We will process your request as soon as possible in accordance with applicable law, but please be aware that in some circumstances you may receive a few more messages until the unsubscribe is processed.
Additionally, we may send you information regarding our Site and services, such as information about changes to our policies and other notices and disclosures required by law. Generally, Users cannot opt out of these communications, but they will be primarily informational in nature, rather than promotional.
